I will dance like David danced!

When I read in 1st and 2nd Samuel this week I was reminded that there is going to be people in our lives that will discourage us from praising and making fools of ourselves for the Lord and lying to us about how powerful our God truly is. Take the stories of David for example. David knew that with Gods help that he could defeat a giant with no armor or battle experience. His brothers and King Saul didn't have that kind of faith so instead discouraged David. The philistines all laughed at him in scorn. It is good that we can find our strength in the Lord and not in people. I Samuel 17

After the Art of the convenient was brought back David danced before the Lord because he was over joyed before God. His wife Michal thought that he was being culturally disgraceful and lowering himself before the people. She looked down on David for praising God. She was then judged by God and could no longer bare children. II Samuel 6

What I will have to continually remember and ask God to help me is to set my heart on caring about what God thinks about me and not what the world thinks about me.

These two songs resignated in my heart while reading God's word.

I will dance, I will sing
To be mad for my King
Nothing, Lord, is hindering
The passion in my soul

And I'll become even more undignified than this
Some would say it's foolishness
But I'll become even more undignified than this
Leave my pride by my side

La, la, la, la, la, hey!
La, la, la, la, la

It's all for You, my Lord!

I also remember listening to "I will dance like david danced" when I was little. However I couldn't find the version my dad played. Here's another:
