Our sweet baby boy was born on February 19th. He weighed 7lbs 11oz 19 inches. Yesterday on his two week check up he gained 1 pound and 2 1/2 inches. Andy and I both liked the name Elijah but wanted a name a little more unique so we loved the greek form of Elijah which is Elias which means my lord is God or God is Yahweh. His middle name is Michael which is Andy's middle name, his dads middle name and his grandpas middle name.
We had a csection mainly because I had to have a csection with Alyeska and it was recommended with the births after a csection because of rupturing. I also healed quickly with my 1st csection and already have a scar so the convenience of planning the date and time is nice because my mom was able to take off of work to stay with Alyeska and it took the stress off. Andy took off two weeks and was able to stay all three nights in the hospital in the very comfy fold out bed lol... Not. I healed nicely and was able to do chores and everything by the second day back home. However surgery isn't the best experience because I literally have to rely on nurses and Andy for everything but after three days in the hospital I am able to walk and healing. It feels good not to be pregnant and Elias is nursing nicely which wasn't the case with Alyeska. I am past the engorged stage and didn't get extremely sore this time around. E lactation specialists were very helpful and this time I knew what to expect and what questions to ask this time.
I forget how much newborns sleep during the day. However his nights and days are switched as suspected. We are slowly teaching him to switch. Everyday his wake up times are a little longer. I'm thankful for how much he sleeps so I can give Alyeska lots of attention while I can.
Alyeska loves her brother. She calls hike baby, brother, and Elias. She wants to be held while I'm breast feeding or holding him but hasn't shown signs of jealousy besides that. She always says "wake up Elias" or"good morning brother" or "hi Elias" or "baby sleeping."
Love love being a mom. These winter days aren't easy staying home. Can't wait for it to warm up to do some walks and go to the park.

He is adorable! I love his name too. I'm glad big sis seems to be adjusting well. That's my biggest fear as August gets closer...that Nolan will be jealous and feel left out. He is my little buddy and I don't want him to be sad. I can't wait for our 4 to get a little older...I forsee some fun playdates in our future!
