We left for Georgia the day after Christmas and got back on January 6th. It was such a wonderful trip seeing Andys side of the family and some of his friends. Here is some highlights of our trip:
1. Dinner at his uncle Tim and aunt Vans house, all his cousins were there, his bro, wife and kids and 3 of us girls are pregnant with boys. Always nice to talk with his extremely nice southern family (all with southern accents). I didn't get a group shot, but we did get the immediate family picture. Alyeska had a great time playing with her cousins Sage and Lacey and she met her baby cousin Kylee for the first time. She loves babies.
2. We then went to Andy's Mema's house and uncle Davids for lunch. Alyeska got a Georgia Tech bib and cute small radio flyer wagon. Mema was thrilled that Alyeska could say her name.
3. Andy's brother Josh and his wife Cami celebrated their 5th anniversary so we got to play with their kids while they went out. Mimi and Pop loved having their 3 grandkids all at once.
4. Andy surprised me with a baby moon that he had planned before our trip. Mimi and Pop watched Alyeska for the night and we went to this beautiful place called Calliway Gardens. Andy remembers family bike rides there over spring break when he was a kid. We went threw some of the green houses which were decorated for Christmas, we went to a butterfly green house as well which was so cool. In the evening we went to the best light display called Fantasy lights which took close to an hour to drive through with animated lights and music to go along with the displays. We stayed in a cottage with a warm fire and watched TV and relaxed. The next morning we had a breakfast buffet. We also drove to Alabama, a state I have never been to. We went to the highest point, which is one of Andy's adventurous goals in life (he's been to 9 highest points in the US so far). It was a wonderful baby moon before our baby boy comes along. Andy is always full of surprises. I love this man!
5. We went to Baby Land General which is the hospital where cabbage patch dolls are born. Alyeska loves babies right now and the hospital is so cute and animated she didn't want to leave.
6. Uncle Tim and Aunt Van let us stay at their HUGE beautiful cabin in the mountains. We just relaxed by the fire, played pool and games and envied the king size beds. Pop went out on the Kayak in January the next morning.
7. Lacey's 2nd birthday was so much fun. They had it at her grandparents church with inflatables and a princess theme. Lacey got a jeep for her birthday which they taped the gas pedal down and let it fly... both girls hated to get off. Alyeska can't get enough of the inflatables. Happy 2nd birthday Lacey :)
Every time we go to Georgia it is relaxing and full of adventures with a combo of seeing family and friends. I feel like I have the best in-laws a girl could ask for. Steve and Trisha provide all of our meals and make sure we are so comfortable and having fun. They also babysit and let us use their car if we want to get out. Thanks mimi and pop you two are awesome parents :)
