My parent in-laws got me a sewing machine for Christmas. I decided it would be a fun hobby for a future stay at home mom. I opened the box today and learned all about my new machine. I stopped by at the store to get some thread and am ready to experiment. My mom's friend gave me some second hand baby clothes awhile back, some of the clothes were old and stained so I thought why not experiment with some of the stained clothes in order to be creative without spending money. It was fun, but it also reminded me that sewing isn't the easiest hobby. I have a lot to learn. I am hoping to take some basic sewing classes at Joann's very soon. It was cool just to get to know my sewing machine, such as winding the bobbin and playing with the different stitches and just trying to sew somewhat straight. Here is my first experiment (the top picture). If you look close the stitching is horrible but it was lots of fun to combine two outfits into one. The last time I tried sewing must have been at least 10 years ago. Here I go!
