Terrific Two!

Alyeska is TWO!! I love this stage. Yes she cries at the smallest things (as this age often does) but she gets over it in a few seconds because she is fairly easy to satisfy or distract. She blows me away at how much she learns everyday, her vocabulary is getting so big and I love that she can understand a lot of what I'm saying. In fact Andy and I have had to watch what we say around her because she likes to repeat everything. For example she repeated the words "crap" and "sucker" already. She has such a sweet personality and loves to give hugs and kisses if she's not being too shy. She loves saying hi and bye to everyone. I can understand why the bible says that Jesus says we should be like children. This age is a lot of work because she can get bored quickly and has short attention span. This age also is very curious so has to be supervised constantly but its so fun to watch her explore and discover. She wants me to play with her all day and has very very short times where she will play by herself.  I'm excited for when Elias is old enough for them to entertain each other. Right now Alyeska loves her brother, loves to get our of the house, loves the park, loves playing or watching other kids, loves books, loves water play, loves animals, loves just about everything because everything is new and exciting which is another reason why I love this age. God has truly blessed us with a beautiful daughter. We hope Gods light will shine bright through her life.

My brother Michael's b-day is on March 29th and Alyeska's is on April 6th so this year we decided to do a little joint family birthday party which was nice because I didn't have to plan anything. I decided that we would do a friend birthday when Alyeska could enjoy it better and when I didn't have a newborn :) Chelsea was so sweet and hosted the party at her house. She decorated one side of the table princess and the other side football. Alyeska got lots of clothes from grandpa and grandma, she got a rocking chair, sand shovel and rake, butterfly wings and a princess tiara and wand from Auntie Chelsea and Uncle Justin and a big ladybug stuffed animal from Uncle Michael and Auntie Amanda.

Amanda and Michael joined the snuggie cult

Saturday was Alyeska's real birthday. Andy and I took Alyeska to the Living Planet Aquarium, Auntie Amanda met up with us there. We were very impressed with the aquarium. The exibits were well made and maintained and the price was cheap. Alyeska LOVED IT!!

To finish off Alyeska's birthday celebration we stopped at our friends the Ashbys and said hi and had some birthday cupcakes, skyped with her Mimi and Pop and opened her new leather chair from them,  had a glow in the dark bath, family birthday dance (which we are making a birthday tradition), measured her height on her playhouse, and lastly Andy pretty much finished her playhouse downstairs with a magnetic wall/white board, chimney and keep our sign. Overall I think she had the best birthday a two year old can ask for.

Happy Birthday my sweet Alyeska!!
