God blesses those who are LOYAL. No wonder this odd book of Ruth was put into the bible. It really is odd because it's such an intimate story of a relationship between a daughter and mother-in-law. It seems so insignificant to the heroic stories and history of the chapter before or after.
I personally love this story because Loyalty is an awesome blessing in my own life. I am so blessed with family and friends who have been consistent in my life. God has a heart for those who are loyal and truly love each other.
The book of Ruth was so powerful because she broke the mold a racial purity. She showed that God is a lover of the outsider who professes their faith to the one true God. God was hurt and angry at the Israelites who had no Loyalty to their God. They broke their loyalty to serve other Gods again and again.
In conclusion God blesses Ruth by being the great grandmother of Israel's greatest hero: David. He also took her out of poverty and gave her a husband who could take care of her. God is good.
